Budget 2025: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Saturday that Rs 2.52 lakh crore has been allocated for the Railways in the next financial year budget. Along with this, large projects like 17,500 general class coaches, 200 Vande Bharat and 100 Amrit Bharat trains have been approved. Vaishnav gave information about the allotted projects and future outlays for the railway in a conversation with the media at the Rail Bhavan in Delhi after the FY 2025-26’s general budget was presented. He said, “New projects worth Rs 4.6 lakh crore have been included in the budget, which will be completed in 4 to 5 years. These new railway lines are associated with laying, doubling the existing railway line, new construction, redevelopment of stations and flyover and underpasses. ”

The Railway Minister said that in view of the increasing demand for rail travel, 100 Amrit Bharat, 50 Namo India and 200 Vande Bharat trains will be built in the next 2-3 years. The Railway Minister said, “We will also associate many other cities with new Amrit Bharat trains.” When asked about the shortage of general class coaches in trains, Vaishnav said that in the coming years, such The construction of 17,500 coaches has been approved. Vaishnav said, “Construction of general class coaches is already going on and by the end of March 31, 1400 such coaches will be ready. Our goal is to make 2000 coaches in the next financial year. Along with this, the construction of 1000 new flyover has also been approved. ‘
Railways will achieve the target of carrying 1.6 billion tonnes of goods by 31 March
The Union Railway Minister said, “We will achieve the target of carrying 1.6 billion tonnes of goods by 31 March and the Indian Railways will reach second place after China in terms of freight in the world.” He said that Indian Railways current finance By the end of the year, 100 percent is going to achieve the target of electrification. Emphasizing the safety of the railway operation, Vaishnav said that the government has increased the allotted from Rs 1.08 lakh crore to Rs 1.14 lakh crore for this and will be reduced to Rs 1.16 lakh crore in the next financial year. The Railway Minister said that if the investment incurred under public-private participation (PPP) is also added to it, then the total budget is Rs 2.64 lakh crore.
