After a slowdown in the demand for vehicles and consumer electronic products in the last few months, sales are once again seeing a boom due to the bumper discounts being offered during the festive season. Many media reports have said that due to Ganesh Chaturthi and Onam, there is an increase in the demand for automobiles and electronics. Reports have said that in view of festivals like Onam, Navratri, Durga Puja and Deepawali, electronics, automobile and smartphone companies are offering discounts of up to 30 percent to customers.
Maruti Suzuki bookings increase by 10%
According to the information, Maruti Suzuki’s bookings have increased by 10 percent in Kerala before Onam and the same situation was seen in Maharashtra and Karnataka on the first day of Ganesh Chaturthi. During Onam, sales of two-wheelers have seen an increase of 15 to 16 percent. Reports said that vehicle sales during the festive season can increase by 15 percent from the average 3,30,000 units of the first five months of the current financial year. At the same time, sales of consumer electronics can see an increase of 7 to 8 percent compared to last year.
Refrigerator sales rise 15% this Onam
Frost-free refrigerator sales increased by 15 percent in Onam. At the same time, sales of single-door refrigerators decreased by 6 to 7 percent. Full automatic washing machine sales increased by 12 to 13 percent. At the same time, semi-automatic washing machine sales increased by 4 to 5 percent. Earlier, a report claimed that more than 10 lakh additional jobs can be seen in India during the festive season. These jobs will be created in hotels, e-commerce, logistics, consumer goods, banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI) and retail sectors. The highest increase in jobs will be seen in the e-commerce sector compared to last year. The reason for this is the shift of customers towards online commerce.
