Currently, 7.5 percent interest is being given on the Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) scheme of the post office. You can also invest at least Rs 1000 in this scheme. There is no limit on maximum investment in this. You can invest as much money as you want in KVP in multiples of Rs 100. This scheme matures in 115 months i.e. 9 years and 7 months. The most special thing about Kisan Vikas Patra Scheme is that your money gets doubled directly on maturity, even if you invest as much money as you want in it. If you put Rs 5 lakh in it, you will get Rs 10 lakh. Similarly, if you invest Rs 5 crore in this scheme, you will get Rs 10 crore.
Facility to open joint account along with single account
In Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) scheme, you can open a single account as well as a joint account. Names of maximum 3 people can be added in the joint account. Apart from this, the account of a child above 10 years of age can also be opened. If the age of the child is less than 10 years, then the parents can open his account in their name. Although this scheme matures in 115 months, money can be withdrawn by closing the account after 30 months from the date of account opening.
