Employees are openly supporting Canara Bank’s campaign
The Canara Bank of the public sector has asked all its 82,000 employees to raise funds while facing the challenge of deposit growth. Bank employees have raised funds worth Rs 16,700 crore in 10 weeks. A top officer gave this information. Amidst the system-wide challenges of deposit growth, the top management of the bank appealed to each employee to increase the deposit and the campaign started on 26 January this year.
All employee entrusted the responsibility of depositing Rs 10 lakh
“We have asked each of the 82,000 employees to contact their relatives and all the people coming under their purview,” told PTI of Canara Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive.

Raju said that the employees have supported the campaign wholeheartedly and are in synergy with the top leadership. He emphasized that in the last two-three years, the work of management has helped this campaign. Raju said, “In the last 2-3 years, we have taken steps to benefit employees, promote promotion, performance and transfers, which have been good. When we called them, we explained them properly and we could explain them about the need of time.”
The amount is being deposited equally in current account, savings account and FD
Raju said that positive results of this campaign were revealed and employees were successful in depositing Rs 16,700 crore, which was distributed equally between CASA and FD. He said that this helped Resho to reduce Credit Deposit Resho from 76 percent to 73 percent in the March quarter.
