New Delhi, 22 April (IANS). The central government has formed a taskforce by other countries to prevent dumping of goods of cheap and inferior quality in India. This information was given by a top government official on Wednesday.
The Center has taken this step at a time when many countries of the world are not able to export goods to the US due to US President Donald Trump’s reciperook tariff.
Deepak Mishra, joint secretary of Petrochemicals in the Department of Chemical and Petrochemicals, said, “A new world system is developing, in which tariffs and counter tariffs are being announced at almost the same time. This can lead to the export to the US can be directed to us again.”
He added, “To avoid this, we need to be vigilant against dumping and hunter pricing. A task force has been formed under the Ministry of Commerce to closely monitor the situation.”
Addressing the ‘India Specialty Chemicals Conclave’ organized by Assocham in the national capital, Mishra also said that India’s chemical sector could “benefit from this development.”
“We are working to develop chemical registration, evaluation, authority and restrictions for India for India. Once it is implemented, the products can be branded to the international environmental criteria and quality control once it is implemented.”
Kapil Malhotra, co-chairman of the Assocham National Council on Chemicals and Petrochemicals, said, “As the dust of American tariffs starts, the activities of the chemical sector have seen an increase and inquiries are coming from all over the world.”
Sagar Kaushik, chairman of the Assocham National Council on Chemicals and Petrochemicals, said that the global market of chemical is about 6 trillion dollars and 60 percent of it is traded globally, which provides extensive opportunities in various geographical areas and various fields.
