New Delhi, 13 June (IANS). Giving information on Friday, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) said that the Directorate General of Training (DGT) has launched a training program with Shell India. Under this training program, the youth of the country will be provided skills for electric vehicle and green energy sector.
The Green Skill and Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Program aims to equip students and teachers with future ready-made abilities in green energy and e-mobileity.
This initiative has been taken at a time when the government is actively advancing green energy and EV in accordance with its net-zero ambitions.

He further said that this initiative is part of our comprehensive approach, under which we want to prepare a workforce that is not only ready for the job, but also for climate. We are equipped with skills to give young Indians to shape global green economy.
Under this partnership, green skill training will be imparted through a structured multi-tire model at selected National Skill Training Institutes (NSTI) and Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) in Delhi-NCR, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
MSDE said that in the first phase, four NSTIs include a 240-hour advanced EV technician course, 90-hour job-oriented evi skills courses in 12 ITIs with Shell Supported Labs and 50-hour Foundational Grin Skill Mode without a 50-hour Foundation without physical labs in additional ITI.
The initiative also includes the training of trainers (TOTs), shell and DGT-branded certification and structured placement support to increase industry’s readiness for more than 250 instructors.
