केंद्र सरकार ट्रेड रेमेडी जांच में ई-फाइलिंग के लिए डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म लॉन्च करेगी

New Delhi, 17 May (IANS). The central government said on Saturday that it is developing an e-filing platform to submit the documents through electronic medium in a trade remedy investigation.

This platform will soon become live, which will make transparency, efficiency and access to all parties ease.

Trade Remedy is called the process where the government takes action on unfair trade practices (dumping by foreign companies) to save the domestic industry.

Since 1995, more than 1,200 trade remedies have been conducted by India.

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has played an important role in the process by quickly investigating the affected industries to ensure timely relief, which is usually completed within a year.

Recently several investigations have played a big role in protecting domestic industry like solar energy, advance materials such as solar cells and copper wire road from unfair trade practices.

The eighth Foundation Day was celebrated by the DGTR in the national capital, with a seven -year dedicated service to save the Indian industry from sudden increase in improper trade practices and imports.

On this occasion, the Director General of DGTR appreciated the commitment and tireless efforts of the officers and employees of the organization in maintaining the integrity of India’s Trade Remedy Ecosystem.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said, “DGTR through duty and quantitative sanctions prevented the sudden increase in sudden imports of products such as palm oil and metallurgical coke, which has helped to stabilize markets and maintain industrial competition. It is quite important to activate the sensitive manufacturing sector sensitive to unstable global trade dynamics.”

In order to maintain the same access, DGTR launched in 2019 at an Helpdex 2019 focused on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
