New Delhi, May 11 (IANS). Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said on Sunday that the operations at the airport are normal, but some flights are affected due to airplaces restrictions and strict security protocols may take longer in security check process.
At the same time, the DIAL advised the passengers to arrive long before the scheduled departure time of the flight to avoid a possible delay at the security checkpoint.
The passengers have also been urged by the Delhi Airport to rely on official sources for accurate information and avoid sharing unevented content on social media.
In addition, due to increased security measures, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport of Mumbai has also issued an advisory asking the passengers to arrive before the scheduled departure time.
Also, passengers have been advised to keep the photo identity card, passport, visa, ticket/boarding pass issued by the government, so that it can be easily inspected.
The government on Friday extended to 05:29 am on May 15, in the morning of the period of closing 24 airports across the country including Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot. These airports are located close to the Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Air India said that its flights from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot will be canceled till 05:29 am on May 15. However, this is a changing situation and we request customers to see our official social media handle for the latest update.
The airline said, “During this period, customers holding valid tickets for the journey will be given full refunds on a blessing charge or full refund on cancellation.”
Low -cost airline IndiGo, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have also issued a similar advisory.
