New Delhi, 28 June (IANS). The central government on Saturday said that the government is committed to completing the digital change process to provide timely and quality data on the path of becoming a development on the path of developing India till 2047.
This digital change represents unwavering commitment to make official figures on time, reliable and accessible to the needs of Digital Transformation Down Drivan New India.
The Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation said in a statement, “Our goal is to empower every citizen, researcher and policy maker with quality data, which supports India’s ambitious development goals until 2047.”
The National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry has carried out its comprehensive digital change journey in the last one year.
After the launch of the e-numeric portal on National Statistics Day on June 29, 2024, the speed has continued with successful deployment of more than a dozen new digital modules, portals and websites, which is an important first stage.
Last year several major digital assets have been launched, which increase transparency and improve the access to data for researchers, policy makers and public.
These developments include Data Innovation Lab (DI Lab), OCMS, Matdeta Portal and National Statistical System Training Academy (NSSTA) and new dedicated websites for the National Statistics Commission (NSC).
In addition, the NSO has introduced public-facing dashboard for important statistical domains including Socio Statistics Division (SSD), Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), Economic Census (EC) and National Sample Survey (NSS) as part of the e-statistics portal, which provides stakeholders to the stakeholders of India.
With these additional features, this portal has more than 135 million records.
Displaying its commitment to innovation and future preparation, the Ministry has identified seven major use cases to integrate emerging technology in its statistical operation.
Along with the expansion of digital ecosystem, the Ministry has also given top priority to secure its national data assets.
