Vapi, 18 April (IANS). Vapi traders of Gujarat said on Friday that tariff war will benefit Indian industries and the demand for the country’s products will increase all over the world.
A Vapi businessman told news agency IANS that the tariff of US President Donald Trump has created a stir in the industries of the whole world. India has also been imposed 26 percent tariffs, but due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies, India will not have much effect, as Trump has imposed less tariffs on India than other countries of the world. This is providing indirect benefit to Vapi and surrounding industries. Due to this, new markets can be opened and India can benefit from China and other countries.
More than six thousand small and big industries are employed in Vapi and the surrounding industrial areas, including mainly textile, chemical, pigments, pharma industries. These industries export themselves to the country and abroad and also import raw materials.
He said that due to more tariffs on other Asian countries, America’s market can now be diverted towards India, due to which industries remain optimistic about the time to come.
Another Vapi businessman said that Russia-Ukraine War and Israel War were watching the recession over exports to Vapi’s industries. But now due to tariff war, sudden positive inquiry is coming from European countries. The tariffs imposed by Trump on countries around the world are widely impacting the industries of the whole world, but due to the policies like ‘Make in India’ of the Modi government, its impact on India will be less than other countries. Now the whole world is eyeing India and in the coming times, the tariff war will benefit the domestic industry and the industries of Vapi, who are struggling with recession, will get a new boost.
Another industrialist said that Chemical, Pharma, Special Chemical and DiCem Industries of Vapi and surrounding areas will get a big benefit. Trump has imposed more tariffs on India’s competitive countries like China, Taiwan, Bangladesh, which is having a widespread impact on these countries. Due to the low tariff on India, the market of those countries can now turn towards India, which can give big opportunities to the industries of Vapi in the coming time.
