SUV dominance in the country
Passenger Vehicles Sales: In FY 2024-25, the wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 43 lakhs. The special thing is that 65 percent of these 43 lakh vehicles are Utility vehicles i.e. SUVs. The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) released these figures on Tuesday. According to SIAM’s data, the wholesale sales of passenger vehicles in FY 2024-25 were 2 percent to 43,01,848, with 43,01,848, which was 42,18,750 in FY 2023-24.

Siam told that SUVs continued to dominate the sale of vehicles in India and maintained the boom in sales of vehicles. The total trains sold in FY 2024-25 were 65 percent SUVs, which was about 60 percent in FY 2023-24. In FY 2024-25, SUV sales gained 11 percent, leading to 27,97,229. A total of 25,20,691 SUVs were sold in FY 2023-24. On the other hand, in the financial year 2024-25, the sales of the passenger car fell 13,53,287, which was 15,48,947 in FY 2023-24. According to SIAM, the passenger vehicle segment recorded the highest export of 7.7 units so far in FY 2024-25. Let us tell you that this is 15 percent more than the financial year 2023-24.
Two-wheelers’ sales up 9 percent
In the two-wheeler segment, the last financial year wholesale sales rose 9 percent to 1,96,07,332 units. The wholesale sales of two-wheelers in FY 2023-24 were 1,79,74,365. Siam said that during the last financial year, there has been an improvement in rural demand. However, wholesale sales of commercial vehicles have declined. In FY 2024-25, commercial trains fell by 1% to 9,56,671 units. Which was 9,68,770 in FY 2023-24. But commercial three-wheeler sales rose 7 percent to 7,41,420 units, which was 6,94,801 units in FY 2023-24.
