Nitin Gadkari
Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari told the industry on Monday not to demand tax deduction repeatedly, as the government needs funds to implement welfare schemes for the poor. Addressing a program here, Gadkari said that the logistic cost in India will be reduced by nine percent within two years. Gadkari, known for his impeccable views, said, “Do not demand a cut in goods and service tax (GST) and taxes. This is a continuous process that is going on. If we reduce tax, you will ask more, because it is human nature.
He said, we want to reduce tax burden, but without tax, the government cannot carry out welfare schemes. The minister said that the government’s approach is to take the rich people and benefit the poor. Therefore, the government also has its limits. According to Gadkari, currently India’s logistic cost is 14 to 16 percent. He said, I assure you that within two years our logistic cost will be nine percent. This will make us more competitive in the international market. ”
Emphasis on providing industrial employment
The minister said that the logistic cost in China is eight percent and it is 12 percent in the US and European countries. Gadkari also said that the Indian industry needs to reduce the cost of production without compromising quality. The minister said that India is going to create more employment by increasing capital investment. He said, you are not only money creator, but also employment creators. We need to take advantage of this golden era. Apart from this, Gadkari emphasized the need to reduce imports and increase exports to make India a developed nation.
