After a continuous downward trend, the domestic stock market made a comeback and closed with a rise in the last trading session of the week. During trading today, Dr. Reddy’s Labs, M&M, IndusInd Bank, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Finance were seen trading as the biggest gainers on Nifty, while decline was recorded in Hindalco Industries, SBI, ONGC, Coal India, Bharat Electronics. .
Strength in auto, pharma, media sectors
According to the news, BSE Midcap index was trading flat, while Smallcap index was seen up 0.3 percent. Strength was seen in auto, pharma and media sectors. Realty, PSU Bank, Oil & Gas, Metal indices looked weak. Sensex today opened at 78,607.62 against its previous close of 78,472.48 and touched its intraday high and low at 79,043.15 and 78,598.55 respectively. A jump of 1.30 percent was seen in Nifty Pharma index. Nifty Auto index gained one percent. Nifty Bank index rose by 0.27 percent and Private Bank index rose by 0.49 percent. However, the PSU Bank index declined by 0.89 per cent. Nifty Metal, Oil & Gas and Realty indices fell up to one per cent.
Bullish trend in Asian markets
Asian markets remained bullish on Friday. Japanese shares rose due to weak yen. Japan’s Nikkei index closed up 1.8 percent. In Seoul, the market closed down 1.02 percent after the won fell to a 16-year low of 1,480.20 per US dollar on Friday morning. In Asia, Shanghai, Mumbai, Malaysia, Taipei, Singapore, Sydney and Bangkok were all in the green. Hong Kong was stable, while Manila was down. London was down while Frankfurt and Paris were both up in early European trading. TOKYO – The Nikkei 225 was up 1.8 percent at 40,281.16 points around 0800 GMT.
