50% tariff recommended on European Union
Along with announcing 25 percent tariff on Apple, Trump has also recommended a 50 percent tariff on the European Union. Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth, “It has been very difficult to deal with the European Union, which was formed with the primary purpose to benefit from the United States on trade. Their powerful trade barrier, VAT tax, corporate penalty, non-monetary trade barrier, monetary manipulation, unfair cases against American companies, as well as the US are facing more than $ 25,00,00,000 business deficit every year for many other reasons. This number is completely unacceptable. Our discussions are not reaching with them. Therefore, I am recommending a 50% tariff directly on the European Union starting from June 1, 2025. If the product is made in the US, there will be no tariff. ”
