Mumbai, May 17 (IANS). The Department of Industry and Internal Trade Promotion (DPIIT) and the Global Energy Alliance for Puppal and Planet (GEAPP) have partnered aimed at increasing opportunities for clean energy startups in the country. This information was given by DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjeev.
This partnership will help to increase the technology of startups to support India’s long-term net-georo targets.
He said, “India’s climate leadership depends on a strong entrepreneurship basis. This partnership will reveal important opportunities to pursue techniques for clean energy startups that support the country’s long-term net-jeer targets.”
Under this two-year-old MoU (MoU), both sides aim to promote innovation, stability and entrepreneurship in clean energy and manufacturing.
This initiative will support the initial stage climate -tech startup by helping them access to funding, mentorship, pilot projects and market connections.
Under this MoU will launch GEAPP Energy Transitions Innovation Challenge (ENTICE). Through this, such technology will be awarded a prize of up to $ 5,00,000, which will present impressive clean energy solutions.
It will provide investment assistance through partners like spectrum impact and Avana Capital.
DPIIT will help connect the program to Startup India Network and will ensure its access through various government schemes.
Sanjeev further stated that India’s leadership in climate action depends on creating a strong entrepreneurship basis and this partnership is a step in that direction.
In GEAPP, India’s vice -president Saurabh Kumar described the Memorandum of Understanding as an important milestone to carry forward systemic change.
He said that the global experience of GEAPP, institutional support of DPIIT and the joint strength of the network of Startup India will open new avenues for clean energy innovation in the country.
