New Delhi, May 29 (IANS). Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal on Thursday urged the industry to aspire for big goals. Also, he spoke of establishing faith with all stakeholders in the development of the country.
In the CII ‘Annual Business Summit’ in the national capital, he highlighted four major pillars to build the capacity of the country.
He also gave an example of India’s success in 5G deployment. Mittal said that the nation should recognize the demographic dividend.
He said, “India’s young and energetic workforce can be an asset for the developed world, but the industry and the government should work towards preparing this talent pool for future jobs.”
Sunil Mittal said, “The rapid development of global capacity centers (GCC) in India is a clear indication of this.”
On research and development front, the country needs to increase its investment in deep scientific research along with innovation and the industry needs to play a leading role in it.
Mittal said that public-private partnership in R&D is creating multipleer effects in India.
He said, “We need to focus on purpose-operated products and services and focus on exports with more value editions. In the next 10 years, with the right investment, we can see a big change, especially in the semiconductor, who are becoming strategically important.”
He also gave the example of the northeastern states, rich in oil and gas reserves, which have not yet been fully exploited.
Mittal further said that government policies should be made in association with industry participation and bodies like CII should work together with the government.
The industrialist also stated that strong electronics manufacturing and national semiconductor missions are steps taken in the right direction.
