Employment capacity of Indian graduates increased by 33.9 percent to 54.8 percent in 10 years: Union Minister

Gandhinagar, 9 February (IANS). Union Youth Program and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandavia has said that the employment capacity of India’s graduates has increased from 33.95 percent in 2013 to 54.81 percent in 2024 due to various skill building initiatives launched by the government.

Speaking at the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Co-Operation (BIMSTEC) Youth Summit, Mandavia, Citing initiatives like Kaushal Bharat Mission, National Education Policy 2020 and PM Internship Scheme, for youth empowerment for youth empowerment. Demonstrated commitment. Under these initiatives, more than 1.5 crore youth have been trained in areas such as AI, robotics and digital technologies.

India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand are members of the BIMSTEC organization. The aim of the summit is to promote cooperation, exchange experiences and to speed up youth-deducted development, which is a step towards empowering the youth in the entire region.

The Union Minister told about India’s growing startup ecosystem and said that we have come at number three in the world. There are 1,57,000 startups in the country, out of which more than half of women are leading.

He highlighted the immense potential of the youth of the region, which is more than 60 percent of BIMSTEC’s 1.8 billion population and emphasized the need for skill development and opportunities in the rapidly developing global landscape.

Mandavia announced India’s proposal for BIMSTEC, which will serve as a “youth bridge” and is a multi-sectoral initiative to empower young leaders through knowledge-sharing, leadership programs and regional networking opportunities. . The purpose of this initiative is to create a transformative platform that integrates entrepreneurship, sports, education and technology.
