Fastag annual pass, launched on August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day, is receiving tremendous response from users. Within four days of launch, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has sold more than five lakh annual passes. Fastag Annual Pass is receiving good response from day one, about 1.4 lakh people have booked or activated the annual pass by 7 pm on August 15.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) says that Fastag has installed another milestone towards uninterrupted technology-based transport in India. Within four days of launch, more than 5 lakh users Fastag have been connected to the annual pass. This initiative is providing passengers fast, convenient and better tolling experience. More and more users are making their journey easier and better using this pass.
Highways app also made records
In its post shared on the social networking site ‘X’, NHAI said that with more than 1.5 million downloads, NHAI’s highway travel app has become the top ranked government app. Highway travel mobile app has reached 23rd in overall rankings on Google Play Store and second place in travel category. The app with a 4.5 star rating app has achieved this feat within 4 days of Fastag annual pass launch.
What is Fastag Annual Pass?
It may be noted that the Central Government has launched Fastag annual pass on August 15 to facilitate the journey on the country’s select National Expressway (NE) and National Highways (NH). Users can buy this pass for just Rs 3,000 and can travel without giving a full year or maximum 200 trip (whichever before) without toll. However, it will only apply to the expressway and highways, which are managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Users can buy Fastag Annual Pass through NHAI’s official website and highway travel mobile app. For this, users do not need to buy a separate fastag, it will be active on the existing fastag. However, for this your fastag is required to be registered with the vehicle registration number (VRN) of the vehicle. This annual pass will be applicable only to private vehicles like car, jeep or van category vehicles. It does not include commercial vehicles like taxi, cab, bus or truck etc.
How will the pass be active?
First go to the highway travel mobile app. Click the ‘Activate’ button by clicking on the ‘annual toll pass’ tab. After this, click on the ‘Gate Started’ button and enter your vehicle number. After entering the vehicle number, the Vahan database will verify it. If your vehicle is eligible for this pass, then you have to enter the mobile number in the next stage. After which an OTP will come. Enter OTP and proceed to pay. Select UPI or Card Payment Mode through the payment gateway and pay Rs 3,000. The annual pass on the fastag of your vehicle will be activated within the next 2 hours.
