If you travel from the highway daily, then there is good news for you. The central government has announced to start Fastag annual pass from August 15, 2025. Under this, toll-free travel facility will be available for one year or 200 trip for just Rs 3,000. This service will be available on the entire National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) network.
Why was this pass started?
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH) says that this scheme will provide relief to those traveling repeatedly from paying toll every time. Now both time and money can be saved by paying a year in one go.
Who can get this pass?
Vehicle owner with only private cars, jeeps or vans
Professional vehicles will not get this facility
Vehicle information will be verified from Vahan database
Fastag will be closed immediately when given wrong information or misuse

After verification, the pass will be active in about 2 hours
How will the pass work?
Toll-free on national highways and all toll plazas in the Northeast
On completion of 200 rounds or completion of one year, the pass will automatically turn into a normal fastag.
This state will act like a normal tag on highways, local roads and parking and fees will be charged there.
How will the rounds be calculated?
In the open toll system (where there is only one plaza), each crossing will be considered an affair.
In closed toll systems (where both entry and exit), an entrance-disinfection would be considered a dizziness.
What does the government say?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari says that this pass will remove the troubles from toll plaza one after the other and will give a big benefit to daily travelers and those traveling between the city. If you travel on the highway daily, then this fastag annual pass is very beneficial for you.
