New Delhi, 19 April (IANS). Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will leave for the US and Peru on Sunday. She will also attend the summer meetings of the IMF-Wise Bank at Washington DC during his stay in America. He is also expected to carry forward the bilateral trade agreement with the US.
The Finance Ministry said on Saturday that Nirmala Sitharaman will reach San Francisco on 20 April in the first phase of its visit to America. In the second phase, she will be in Washington DC from 22 to 25 April.
In San Francisco, she will speak on the topic ‘Laying the foundation of India 2047’ at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University. Subsequently, a firecusside chat will participate in the session.
The Finance Minister will hold talks with the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of the major fund management companies during the Round Table meeting with investors. In addition, she will also hold bilateral meetings with the CEO of top companies in the Information Technology (IT) region located in San Francisco.
She will also talk to the people of the Indian community settled there at an event organized for people of Indian origin in San Francisco.
The ministry said that Nirmala Sitharaman’s program in Washington DC will be very busy. She will also attend the second meeting of Finance Ministers of G20 countries and Governors from Central Banks, in addition to attending the summer meetings of the IMF-Vividy Bank, a general meeting of the Development Committee, the ISFC plane and the boundary conference held on the global government loans.
Apart from summer meetings, she will hold bilateral meetings with its counterparts from several countries including Argentina, Bahrain, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, Britain and America. In addition, he is the Commissioner of the European Union for financial services; Chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB); Chairman of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB); Special Advocate of UN Secretary -General (UNSGSA) for financial health; And will also meet the first Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Finance Minister will lead an Indian delegation of officials of the ministry and the Indian delegates from the ministry during his first visit to Peru from 26-30 April, which will highlight the strong bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries.
She will meet Peru’s President Dina Boluart and Prime Minister Gustavo Adriangen in the capital Lima. In addition, she will hold bilateral meetings with Peru’s finance and economy, defense, energy and mines ministers and also interact with local public representatives.
The Finance Minister will preside over the meeting of the Indo-Peru Business Forum, which will include major trade representatives of the two countries.
She will also interact with Indian investors and businesses currently working in Peru as well as the Indian trade delegation who visits Peru.
According to the statement of the ministry, Finance Minister will also participate in a community program in Lima, where she will interact with Indian migrants living in Peru.
