Like every month, many rules are going to change in the month of August. LPG prices have come down since August 1, while some rules related to UPI have changed. At the same time, from August 15, Fastag annual pass rule is going to be implemented. All these changes will affect people’s pockets. Let’s know what is changing from August.
First change – LPG commercial cylinder prices low
Oil marketing companies have cut the 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinder prices across the country by Rs 33.50. This new price has come into force from 1 August i.e. today. However, no change has been made in the price of LPG. Commercial gas cylinders in Delhi have been priced at Rs 1631.50, Rs 1734.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1582.50 in Mumbai and Rs 1789 in Chennai.
Second change – UPI rules change
From today, many new rules are being implemented regarding UPI. If you use Paytm, PhonePe, Google Pay or any other payment third platform, the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has changed some rules to provide better payment service. NPCI has imposed some new boundaries. Now a limit will apply to check the balance, refresh status and other things.
Third change – SBI Credit Card
This can be a major setback for SBI card holders, as SBI is going to shut down a service from August 11. SBI has decided to close the free air accident insurance cover on several co-branded credit cards. Currently, SBI gives insurance of Rs 1 crore or Rs 50 lakh on UCO Bank, Central Bank, PSB, Karur Vaishya Bank, Allahabad Bank as well as some elite and Prime cards, which will be closed from August 11.
Fourth change – Fastag Annual Pass
Now from August 15, 2025, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is going to start a new fastag annual pass for private vehicles. Under this annual pass, 200 tolls will be free, for which a fee of Rs 3000 will have to be paid. This pass will be valid for one year or maximum 200 trips. The purpose of this near is to make the way of movement easier.
Fifth change – PNB KYC
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has requested its customers to update their KYC information before August 8, 2025 to run their bank account smoothly. PNB said that this update is in accordance with RBI guidelines.
Sixth Change – Amendment in ATF rates
The price of Air Turbine Fuel (ATF) has also changed from 1 August i.e. today. After the new amendment, the price of ATF in Delhi has increased to Rs 92,021.93 per kiloliter. In Kolkata, it has been reduced to Rs 95,164.90 per liter, Rs 86,077.14 per liter in Mumbai and Rs 95,512.26 per liter in Chennai. These prices are for domestic airlines. Along with the change in the price of ATF, there is a change in air fares.
Seventh Change – Bank holiday
Banks will remain closed for 15 days in August. It also includes Sunday and Saturday holidays. In addition, banks in different states will remain closed on different days due to festivals and other reasons.
