Puri, June 28 (IANS) In Puri, Lifegards on Saturday expressed happiness and pride when Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Group Gautam Adisha came to the holy city of Odisha and between him.
Talking to news agency IANS on Puri Beach, Lifeguard President Mani Shiva Rao said, “We are honored and very happy with the arrival of Gautam Adani. This is the first time when such a big figure has come to us and has talked to us. We are very happy.”
Puri Lifeguard Association General Secretary Hari Rao said, “We were overwhelmed and proud when Gautam Adani came to meet us. This is the first time when such a big person has talked directly to us. It matters a lot to all of us.”
The Adani Group has launched a massive voluntary initiative to support pilgrims and forward -line workers during the nine -day festival from 26 June to 8 July.
The group has offered assistance to the Volunteers of Puri Beach Lifeguard Federation’s lifeguard and beach cleaning, especially for plastic waste.
He also distributed free T-shirts for official volunteers and fluorescent security vests for municipal employees.
Mani said, “Every day, we serve thousands – millions of people coming for the Rath Yatra. Our team selflessly works day and night, especially around the beach and temple.”
He said, “We have taken over 450 live cases (medical emergency) so far. Every morning our teams ensure that the area is clean and ready for pilgrims. From roads to lights and security to health service, we are constantly working to support the journey and ensure good.”
Lifegard remains anonymous hero among the huge crowd of devotees, Lifegard Commander M Jogi Rao told IANS that they are working day and night for humanity and their real reward is to save the lives of people.
He said, “We live here every day from sunrise to sunset and work to save people. When we save someone from drowning, that moment fills our hearts and this is the reward we need. We do not do this work for fame or praise, we do it for humanity.
