New Delhi, 13 May (IANS). Gas distribution sector giant Gayle on Tuesday recorded a standalone net profit of Rs 2,049 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year ended March 31, 2025, which is 6 percent less than a profit of Rs 2,176.97 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.
The board of directors of the company has declared the final dividend of Rs 1 per equity share for FY 2025.
Meanwhile, the company’s operational revenue increased to Rs 35,707 crore in the January-March quarter, which was Rs 32,334.50 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, while EBITDA also increased by 13.3 percent to Rs 3,216 crore.
The total income for the quarter increased to Rs 36,273.87 crore, compared to Rs 32,972.10 crore in the same quarter last year.
Expenditure increased to Rs 33,572.80 crore in the fourth quarter of FY 2025, mainly due to more stock-in-trade purchases of more than Rs 28,943.92 crore.
Benefits (PBT) before tax stood at Rs 2,701.07 crore. For FY 2025, Gayle recorded a net profit of Rs 11,312.32 crore in FY 2024 as compared to Rs 8,836.48 crore, while the annual revenue increased from Rs 1,30,638.11 crore to Rs 1,37,287.56 crore.
On Tuesday, the price of Gayle’s shares was around Rs 184. Last month, the company’s stock rose by nearly 2.7 percent.
Gayle had declared a consolidated net profit of Rs 4,084 crore for October-December of FY 2025, showing a 28 percent increase compared to the previous year.
The net profit of the government -owned gas distribution company during the third quarter of last year was Rs 3,193 crore.
The quarter saw an increase of 6.23 percent in revenue from operations, which increased from Rs 34,768 crore to Rs 36,937 crore in the previous year.
According to the company’s chairman and managing director Sandeep Kumar Gupta, “Gayle has announced an extraordinary income of $ 285 million (about Rs 2,440 crore) in the results of the fourth quarter. This income was received from SEFE Marketing and Trading Singapore Private Limited as part of an agreement to withdraw the arbitration proceedings. ”
Gayle’s statement said, “As a result of the settlement agreement signed on January 15, 2025 with one of the LNG suppliers, the company has recognized Rs 2,440.03 crore (US $ 285 million) as extraordinary income during the quarter ended December 31, 2024 and nine months.”
