New Delhi, 14 April (IANS). Global PC shipment has increased by 4.8 percent to 5.9 crore units on an annual basis in the first quarter (January-March period) of 2025.
According to Gartner’s preliminary results, the US PC shipment rose 12.6 percent to 1.6 million units in the first quarter of 2025.
Research Principal Rishi Padhi in Gartner said, “The PC market in the first quarter of 2025 is due to a boom in shipment in two major markets, the US and Japan.”
Shipment in the PC market in the US bounces as the sellers increased the inventory due to tariff announcements, resulting in a 12.6 percent increase in PC shipments on an annual basis.
After the announcement of reciperook Tariff from US President Donald Trump, many companies increased the shipment going to America. Currently the recipe rifle has been withdrawn.
Despite this growth, the final-user demand has been slow. However, the PC for Window 11 has been continued to upgrade by industries.
Strong commercial PC demands operated by Windows 11 replacement in Japan and increased trend of chromebook contributed significantly to the shipment growth of 15.6 percent.
According to Gartner, there has been no major change in the top six seller rankings worldwide in the first quarter of 2025.
In the worldwide PC shipment, Lenovo recorded the strongest 9.6 percent increase among the top six vendors, while the Aer growth rate was the fastest 1.9 percent.
The report stated that HP was at the top position in the US market with 25.1 percent market share, followed by Dell 23.9 percent market share.
According to the report, the increased inventory to prevent Windows 11 upgrade and American tariff effects promoted PC growth.
