New Delhi, January 18 (IANS). Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) members will be able to easily make corrections in their personal information like name etc. This information was given by the Union Minister on Saturday.

Reforms have been implemented in EPFO by the government, after which members will be able to easily make changes in their personal information by visiting the digital platform of EPFO.

Union Labor and Employment Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya said, “EPFO has more than 10 crore beneficiaries, whenever a member had to make any change in his information available with EPFO, he had to go through a long process, but now Reforms have been implemented in EPFO. After this, members will be able to easily make changes in their information themselves without any external help.

Mandaviya further said, “EPFO has received about 8 lakh complaints related to change in name and other information. With this change, all these complaints will be resolved soon.”

Apart from this, the Union Minister said, “The government has also implemented reforms to simplify EPFO account transfer. Now members will be able to easily transfer EPFO account from one institution to another through an OTP. For this, first the process is done. It was quite long.”

Earlier this month, EPFO had said that it has completed the rollout of Centralized Pension Payments System (CPPS) in all its regional offices across the country. More than 68 lakh pensioners will benefit from this.

With this new system, beneficiaries will get the facility to withdraw pension from any bank. Also, at the time of commencement of pension, the beneficiary will not need to go to the bank for verification. This step will be a relief for those pensioners who go to their hometown after retirement and live their further life there.
