The Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Modi on Friday approved 4 projects related to Indian Railways. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given information about this by doing cabinet. The Union Cabinet has approved 4 projects costing Rs 18,658 crore of the Railway Ministry. These projects will cover 15 districts of 3 states. These states are Maharashtra, Orissa and Chhattisgarh. The current network of Indian Railways will be expanded in these states. Vaishnav said that the 1247 km rail network will be expanded under the projects.
Projects will be completed by 2030-31
These four multitracking projects will increase line capacity. Vaishnav said that its purpose is to ensure uninterrupted and sharp transportation of both passenger and goods. He said that these projects will improve travel facility, low logistics cost will be reduced, oil imports will decrease and CO2 emissions will decrease. The ministry said in a press release that these projects will increase the line capacity on the major routes of coal, iron ore and other minerals, which will expand the logistics capacity. The ministry said that these projects will be a supply chain streamline, which will help in rapid economic development. These projects are to be completed by 2030-31.
These four projects are as follows:
Sambalpur – Jarapada third and fourth lines Jharsuguda – SASON third and fourth line Kharsia – Naya Raipur – Paramalakasa Fifth and Sixth Line Gondia – Balharshah Dabbling
3350 villages will benefit
This project is the result of the PM-Mati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-model connectivity, which has been possible through integrated scheme. These will provide uninterrupted connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services. 19 new stations will be built with these projects, which will increase connectivity of two districts (Gadchiroli and Rajnandgaon). Multi-tracking projects will increase connectivity of about 3350 villages and about 47.25 lakh population.
