New Delhi, 26 May (IANS). The Center on Monday launched the Panchayat Advancement Portal (PAI) 2.0 portal to systematically assess and improve its performance in major areas of governance and service delivery to panchayats.
PAI is an evaluation framework developed by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, aimed at the performance of more than 2.5 lakh gram panchayats in nine themes with localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
PAI version 1.0 will serve as baseline. In this, data of 2.16 lakh gram panchayats of 29 states and union territories is covered.
According to the government, PAI’s version 2.0 is a major jump in functionality, efficiency and utility.
The ministry said, “PAI reflects the refinement of the change -focused framework concentrated framework, which has a more clear and more practical set of indicators and data points to improve utility and reliability while maintaining thematic prevalence, while maintaining thematic prevalence.
Vivek Bhardwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, spoke about the transformative ability of PAI 2.0 to systematically assess and improve his performance in major areas of governance and service delivery.
Referring to the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for aspiring districts and aspiration blocks, he said, “We should now pursue the same feeling in our panchayats. When we record accurate data, we do not just count, but we contribute to the change of the country.”
During this time, Bhardwaj urged the grassroots workers to enter the accurate data on the PAI Portal 2.0, which will give a comprehensive approach for the overall development of India.
Saurabh Garg, Secretary, Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, said that “India’s SDG data availability has increased from 55 percent to about 95 percent in the last five years”.
He explained how the PAI structure leads the national target of the result -concentrated government through better standardization, harmony and visualization.
