He said India has already achieved 212 GW of energy from non-fossil fuel sources and is on track to surpass the 2030 target. The government will continue to support technological advancements and innovations in the clean energy sector.
Share of renewable energy at 46 percent
The share of renewable energy in the total installed electricity generation capacity in the country has reached 46 percent. The total electricity generation capacity in the country is 452.69 GW. The ministry said the total renewable energy capacity in the country has crossed 200 GW (one gigawatt equals 1,000 MW). India’s capacity increased by 24.2 GW (13.5 percent) in just one year to reach 203.18 GW in October 2024.
