Any work, whether government or private, is not possible without Aadhar card. Whether it is to open an account in a bank or to get admission in schools, Aadhar card is asked everywhere. UIDAI issues blue colored Aadhar Card for children, also known as ‘Bal Aadhar Card’, i.e. Aadhar Card or Birth Discharge Certificate for newborns. It is made through the Aadhar card of the parents. Blue Aadhar card is made for children of 5 years or less and it is valid only for 5 years. That is, after 5 years it has to be updated once again. It automatically becomes inactive if it is not updated in time. Biometric update is done when the child attains the age of 15 years. You can do this from any nearest Aadhar center.
Procedure to get Blue Aadhar card-
Take the child to the enrollment center. Here you have to fill and submit the enrollment form. Along with this, you will have to give your Aadhar card and mobile number. It does not require biometric information. Only one photo is clicked followed by document verification. After document verification, a message will be sent to your number and within 60 days your child’s blue Aadhar card will be generated and sent to the address given by you.
After completing the process of making Aadhar card, you are given an acknowledgment slip, which you have to keep until your Aadhar card is received. This acknowledgment slip contains the application number, through which Aadhaar status can also be tracked.
