New Delhi, December 16 (IANS). Job growth this year has been excellent in Indore, Udaipur, Bhubaneswar and Jaipur. In this, Udaipur has been on top with 17 percent. This information was given in a report on Monday.
Indore was at second place with 14 percent increase in jobs.
The report released by Naukri.com said that apart from Udaipur and Indore, emerging cities like Jaipur and Ahmedabad are also leading the job market. Sectors like IT, Oil & Gas and Construction have growth rates in double digits.
The report said that Jaipur is fast emerging as a tech hub and there has been a 48 percent increase in recruitment for IT jobs in the third quarter. At the same time, there has been an increase in jobs in Oil & Gas, Construction/Engineering and Account/Finance in Ahmedabad also.
According to the report, the jobs scenario started stabilizing from the second quarter of 2024. By the third quarter, hiring saw a strong increase again. This was led by the IT sector and created more job opportunities in emerging cities.
The report noted that metro cities such as Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune have led the recovery, with Pune in particular making a strong comeback in the second half of the year, recording a 13 per cent growth in hiring during the third quarter. .
The report said that strength was seen in the AI/ML sector in 2024. The demand for tech-skilled talent highlighted the growth rate, with a growth rate of 14-47 percent during the year.
The FMCG sector also maintained positive growth rates in different quarters. A flat trend was seen in this sector in the first quarter and the growth rate till the third quarter was 20 percent.
Similarly, Pharma/Biotech also continued to grow, taking advantage of the current healthcare needs.
The banking and financial services sector witnessed modest growth during the year, while the insurance sector recorded a sharp rise with 37 per cent growth in the second quarter, driven by increased demand for financial protection after a sluggish first quarter.
According to the report, the second half of the year saw an increase in fresher hiring in non-IT sectors.
