New Delhi, 18 June (IANS). Amid the Israeli-Iran struggle, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that sufficient amount of petrol and diesel are available in the country. There is no need to worry at this time.
Talking to news agency IANS, Hardeep Singh Puri said, “Between Israel and Iran struggle, I want to clarify that there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the country and there is no need to worry at this time.”
Puri further said that at present there is no shortage of crude oil in the world and the number of our crude oil suppliers has now increased to 40, which was earlier 27. Apart from this, we are also producing crude oil ourselves. Our output is also increasing and we have a lot of stock.
According to a report by MK Global, Iran produces about 3.3 million barrels (MBPD) of crude oil per day and exports about 1.5 MBPDs. Iran is also on the northern edge of the hormuz Strait, through which more than 20 MBPD oil is traded in the world.
Due to this, after the introduction of Iran-Israel struggle in the Middle East, there was a possibility that the country could face difficulties in the import of crude oil.
The Union Minister said that the benefit of welfare schemes of Modi government is reaching the last person of the country.
Puri said, “Ujjwala scheme has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2016. Now 10.33 crore poor families are getting the benefit of this scheme.”
He further said, “Earlier only gas cylinders were limited to urban areas, but the Modi government has ensured that LPG cylinders reach easily in rural areas of the country.”
Additionally, the Union Minister said that in 2014 we started biofuel blending from 1.4 percent, which has reached 20 percent today.
