Business News Desk!! Major aircraft manufacturer Airbus has announced that it plans to hire more than 5,000 direct employees in India over the next few years. Apart from this, the company also aims to supply services and goods worth US $ 2 billion from India. Remi Mallard, President and Managing Director (South Asia), Airbus India, gave this information. Currently, Airbus India directly employs around 3,500 people in India and receives services and goods worth over 1 billion euros from here. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Airbus India and South Asia headquarters-training center in New Delhi, Mallard said the company’s engagement with the country is gaining new momentum.
Airbus has also talked about forming a joint venture with Air India to set up a second pilot training center in India as part of its existing plan. Along with this, investment will also be made to develop an Airbus complex with a capacity of 5,000 people in Bengaluru. Additionally, Airbus will manufacture C295 military aircraft and H125 helicopters in India, which is being done in partnership with Tata Group.

Mallard also said that Airbus is working with Indian research organizations to help commercialize ‘Made in India’ sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Airbus Defense and Space CEO Michael Schoellhorn said ‘Make-in-India’ is the cornerstone of the company’s strategy. “The C295 program is making history as the first aircraft produced entirely by the private sector in India,” he said.
Mallard talked about the preparedness of the Indian Armed Forces to replicate the success of the C295 program in future modernization projects. This includes the “Medium Transport Aircraft Programme, for which we are ready to fully industrialize the A400M in India.” Airbus’s growing presence and investment in India will not only create new employment opportunities but will also take the Indian aviation industry to new heights. This is a major step towards making a significant contribution to the Indian economy by strengthening the ‘Make-in-India’ initiative.
