In fact, Honda Cars India on Friday said it is recalling 2,204 additional units to replace faulty fuel pumps in select models, taking the total recall to 92,672 units. According to PTI news, earlier, the company had announced a campaign to voluntarily replace fuel pumps in 90,468 old units. The company said that this campaign will cover 2,204 units of old models, in which this modification was earlier done as a spare part.
Replacement will be done free at the dealership
According to the news, the company believes that the fuel pumps installed in the recalled cars may have faulty propellers, which can cause the engine to shut down or not start over time. Honda Cars India said that replacements will be made free of cost at the company’s dealerships across India in a phased manner from November 5, 2024, and owners are being contacted individually. In its latest campaign, the company is recalling 2,204 units of models like Accord, Amaze, Brio, BR-V, City, Civic, Jazz and WR-V.

The previously announced recall covered 18,851 units of the compact sedan Amaze manufactured between September 19, 2017, and June 30, 2018, the news said. This also included 32,872 units of City built between September 9, 2017 and June 29, 2018. This campaign also included models like Jazz, BR-V, Brio and WR-V, which have been discontinued in the market. This means that the car has now stopped being manufactured and if you are already the owner of these models then you can also get the car repaired. The company started production in India in December 1997. After starting operations, the company has invested Rs 10,000 crore in India till last year.
