If your NPS account is frozen, you can open it by following these steps

Business News Desk, Pension plays a very important role in continuing income even in old age. To continue income even after retirement, many people start investing from the beginning of the job. Currently, there are many schemes for investment. NPS (National Pension System-NPS) is one of them. In this, the account holder gets the benefit of return. Apart from this, pension facility is also available after maturity. When the investor turns 60 years of age, he can withdraw 60 percent of the total amount invested in NPS. At the same time, 40 percent is used as annuity. In this way, NPS also arranges pension along with a huge fund for old age. Let us tell you that if the investor does not deposit the minimum amount in the NPS account in a full financial year, then his account gets frozen. The investor should invest at least Rs 500 in a financial year. Freeze or inactive account can be activated again. Let us know how to activate an inactive account again?

How to activate NPS account
To reactivate the frozen account, you will have to fill the UOS-S10-A form. You will easily get this form in the post office. Apart from this, you can also get this form from the bank where your NPS account is opened. You can also download the form online.
After filling the form, the subscriber will have to attach a copy of the PRAN card.
Along with this, the account holder will have to deposit the annual outstanding amount and pay a penalty of Rs 100 per year.
After the application form is submitted it will be verified by the officer.
After the application form is verified, the process will be started and PRAN will be activated.

How to activate account from NPS website
You visit the NPS website (https://www.indiapost.gov.in/Financial/pages/content/nps.aspx).
Now log in with your PRAN number and password.
After this click on My account.
Now you select the option of Unfreeze account.
After this you have to fill all the required information and pay the late fee.
Your account will be activated after payment.
