IIM Sambalpur will have to play an important role in India’s progress and development: Amitabh Kant

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS). Amitabh Kant, former chairman of the G20 SERPA and NITI Aayog, said on Tuesday that IITs and IIMs will play an important role to make the country ‘developed India’.

He visited IIM Sambalpur and also interacted with IIM professors and students during this visit.

He told the news agency IANS, “Amidst global challenges in the world, new technology such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing is entering. At the same time, to become ‘developed India’, the way to become ‘developed India’ to become an economy of $ 4 trillion to 30 plus trillion to become an economy. IITs and IIMs will have to increase the fold.

Emphasizing the need for innovation, Amitabh Kant said, “India’s startups need innovation. Here it is made from Sambalpur. “

He offered to make Sambalpur the most green district of India and asked for the leadership of IIMs for this. He said, “There is a Hirakund dam located on the Mahanadi River in Sambalpur district of Odisha state, with the help of making the district the most green district.”

Amitabh Kant appreciated IIM Sambalpur and said, “I came to IIM Sambalpur and discussed with children and professors. This is a very good campus, I have gone to many IIMs and IITs, but the campus here has been built very brilliantly, which is also sustainable. It is also based on Odisha’s architecture.”

IIM Professor Kokil Sen said that we were eagerly waiting for this visit of Amitabh Kant. He gave many important information about the country. He told us how IIM Sambalpur can contribute significantly to deal with the current challenges of the country.
