Impact of PLI! India started exporting high-end electronics equipment

पीएलआई का असर! भारत ने शुरू किया हाई-एंड इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स उपकरणों का निर्यात

New Delhi, 28 February (IANS). India is moving rapidly in the electronics sector. Now the export of high-end electronics equipment from the country has started for the global manufacturing hub. Union Railway, Electronics and IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information on Friday.

In a post on social media platform X, Vaishnav said that the government is committed to promoting the production of equipment, sub-government and capital equipment for both domestic and international markets.

He further wrote that India is touching new dimensions in electronics manufacturing.

Vaishnav further said that the country has started exporting high-end electronics equipment for global manufacturing destinations.

“Our goal is to achieve exports and increase price development through this planned step,” he said.

Production Linked Incentive (PLI) and Make in India initiatives brought to increase manufacturing domestically in the country have helped increase domestic production and reduce dependence on imports. This is also helping Indian manufacturers to compete globally.

Earlier, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav showed a laptop designed and manufactured in India on social media.

The indigenous laptop shows the country’s growing manufacturing and innovation capacity in electronics hardware.

Last month, the government said that the PLI 2.0 scheme brought for IT hardware has produced Rs 10,000 crore and has created 3,900 jobs within just 18 months of launch.

The country’s electronics manufacturing sector has increased strongly in the last decade and the total production has increased from Rs 2.4 lakh crore to Rs 9.8 lakh crore in 2024 in 2014.

There has also been a strong growth in mobile manufacturing in India, 98 percent of mobile phones used in the country are now being produced at the domestic level.
