21 major listed real estate development companies in the country have sold properties worth a total of about Rs 35,000 crore during the April-June quarter. Among these, Godrej Properties has reported the highest sales bookings. Barring a few, all major listed real estate developers have shown annual growth in sales bookings in the April-June quarter. This has been largely due to strong consumer demand for residential properties, especially luxury homes.

Highest sales in housing sector

According to data compiled from stock exchange filings, 21 major listed real estate companies in India reported combined sales bookings of Rs 34,927.5 crore in the first quarter of FY 2024-25. Of these combined sales bookings, the bulk of sales came from the residential sector. In terms of sales bookings, Godrej Properties emerged as the largest listed company with sales bookings of Rs 8,637 crore in the June quarter.

3 times growth in DLF’s sales booking

DLF Ltd, the country’s largest realty firm by market capitalisation, saw its sales bookings jump more than three-fold to Rs 6,404 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal. Mumbai-based Macrotech Developers, which sells properties under the ‘Lodha’ brand, recorded sales bookings of Rs 4,030 crore. Recently listed Gurugram-based Signature Global achieved sales bookings of Rs 3,120 crore in the June quarter, three times that of the same quarter last year.

Prestige Estates gets sales bookings of Rs 3,029.5 crore

Bengaluru-based Prestige Estates Projects recorded sales bookings of Rs 3,029.5 crore in the June quarter, lower than the same period last year. Bengaluru-based firms Sobha Ltd and Brigade Enterprises sold properties worth Rs 1,874 crore and Rs 1,086 crore, respectively, during the April-June period of this fiscal. Bengaluru-based Puravankara Ltd achieved sales bookings of Rs 1,128 crore, which remained almost stable compared to the same period last year.
