Whenever we buy any item, we need to be very careful. Actually, many types of frauds are happening today. In such a situation, if you buy gold, you should buy it only from reliable and registered jewelers. Pure gold has the hallmark of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Hallmark indicates that the gold jewelery you are buying is pure.
Now a question arises in the minds of people that many goldsmiths can also print fake hallmarks on jewellery. If you ever suspect that the hallmark printed on a piece of jewelery is fake or incorrect, you can also check the authenticity of the jewelery through the Hallmark Unique Identification Number (HUID). According to BIS, a unique number is also printed on the jewelery along with the hallmark. If you look at your gold jewelery carefully, you will find a number like AZ4524 printed on it. The purity of gold can be checked through this number. This number contains information about the carat and purity of gold. Actually, the price of gold is decided according to 24 carat, 22 carat and 18 carat. Gold of 22 carat or less is used in gold jewellery.
