New Delhi, June 5 (IANS) Industry Body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Subrakant Panda, said on Thursday that India-Santral Asia Business Council will prove to be very helpful in increasing economic cooperation between India and Central Asian countries.
Talking to the news agency IANS, Subrakant Panda said that India has many centuries old historical relations with the Central Asian region and the India-Sentral Asia Business Council aims to really strengthen it and promote more economic engagement.
He further stated that such dialogues will especially provide an opportunity to come together for the businesses of the two sides, but I think it will not only help strengthen the existing areas of cooperation but will also find new avenues where the businesses of both sides should cooperate.
In a conversation with IANS, Panda further said that energy, pharma, agriculture and food processing etc. are specific areas in which both regions can move very fast.
He said that tourism was definitely mentioned in all the addresses in the program. I think more connectivity among people besides businesses really strengthens relationships.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were also attended by Foreign Minister of India Dr. S Jaishankar at the India-Central Asia Business Council.
External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will host the foreign ministers of these countries for the fourth meeting of India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi on 6 June 2025. The third meeting of the dialogue was held by India in December 2021 in New Delhi.
