New Delhi, 11 April (IANS). Veteran experts said on Friday that India was rapidly becoming a central hub for global technology development.
In a conversation with IANS on the occasion of ‘Global Technology Summit’, experts highlighted India’s role on innovation in Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), ranging from promoting international cooperation in shaping the future of technology.
Australian Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Critical Technology was appreciated by Brendon Dowling of India. He described it as a major global program.
He said that this summit brings together policy makers, industry leaders and think tanks together to discuss deep intervenings between technology and geopolitics.
He told IANS, “I think this summit has actually become a major global event. It brings together policy makers and industry think tanks to talk about geopolitics and technology.”
According to him, ‘Technology’ is at the core of international security and prosperity and India’s efficient ICT workforce and prosperous software industry makes it an essential partner in advancing global technical capabilities.
He also emphasized on the occasion of forming a strong bilateral technology partnership for Australia and India and highlighted the complementary powers of the two countries.
John Simanson, senior director of the Swedish Prime Minister’s Office, underlined the importance of cooperation in technological progress.
He said that most new technology cannot be developed and developed, but it requires joint efforts between countries, industries, academics and public institutions.
Describing the summit as a great platform, he said that this platform provides an opportunity for shared understanding, collaborative action and even joint technical projects.
Fellow Janaka Ortel, director and senior policy of Asia Program at European Council on Foreign Relations, appreciated India’s inclusive approach, especially Global South, Europe and the United States.
He exposed the summit as an important place to discuss the challenges arising from emerging technology.
“India has especially designed an ambitious agenda in the field of digital public infrastructure, and this speed can give rise to meaningful cooperation between India, Europe and other regions,” he told IANS.
