New Delhi, May 1 (IANS). Union Minister Piyush Goyal has successfully completed his visit to Norway, the yatra is the first Norway visit of a Commerce and Industry Minister of India in 25 years. He emphasized that relations between the two countries are going to enter the new phase of trust and development.
India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal held separate meetings with Norway Foreign Minister Espain Barth Ed and Norway’s Minister of Trade and Industry Seesili Myerse. The objective of these meetings was to implement the Indo-EFTA trade and economic partnership agreement and to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
Union Minister Goyal said on the social media platform X, “The visit to Norway was successful, which is the first Norway visit of a Commerce and Industry Minister of India in 25 years.”
He said, “My conversation with Norway’s political and professional leaders assure me that our relationships are ready to enter a new phase of trust and development.”
The Union Minister also held talks with Norway’s leading investors during the panel discussion.
He said, “The possibility of GIFT City emerging as a new entrance for investors was discussed as a new entrance for investors amidst the opportunities for investors in India’s capital markets,” he said.
Union Minister Goyal also interacted with the India-Norway Business Community at the ‘Innovation Norway’ Center.
He said, “Talked about strengthening the Ease of Doing Business, country’s investment environment, global talent leadership, technical expansion and TEPA-managed opportunities for Norway investors,” he said.
The Indian minister also co-headed the Norway India Business Executive Roundatement with Myerseth.
He said, “This discussion focused on expanding economic cooperation, promoting innovation-based growth and finding possible cooperation to strengthen trade relations between the two countries.”
He also visited Norway’s Parliament – Storting and interacted with “some reputed members”.
Union Minister Goyal was on a five -day visit to London, Oslo and Brussels to strengthen India’s trade and investment relations with Britain, Norway and the European Union.
