New Delhi, 24 May (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his inaugural speech at the 10th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on Saturday that India should work towards the development of cities ready for the future.
He urged the Center and all the states to increase the pace of development together.
PM Modi said in the program, “India is having rapid urbanization. We should work towards cities ready for future. Development, innovation and stability should be the engine of development of our cities.”
He further said, “We have to increase the pace of development. If the Center and all the states work together like Team India, no goal can be impossible.”
He also called upon the states to contribute to promoting tourism in the country.
He said, “States should develop at least one tourist destination in each state according to global standards and providing all facilities and infrastructure.” A state, a global destination “. This will also develop neighboring cities as a tourist destination.”
PM Modi described the aspiration of 140 crore citizens as ‘developing’ and said, “Developed India is the goal of every Indian. India will also develop only when every state develops. It is the aspiration of 140 crore citizens.”
In addition, they also called for increasing the number of women in the workforce of the country.
He said, “We should work towards including women in our workforce. We should make such laws and policies that can include women honorably in the workforce.”
The theme of this governing council meeting to be held in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi is ‘Developed India: States for 2047’.
This meeting provides a platform to consult the measures of ‘developed India: 2047’ to the center, states and union territories to make a consensus on how the state can become the foundation stone for making India a ‘developed nation’.
In addition, the meeting will also discuss measures to promote entrepreneurship, increase skills and create permanent employment opportunities across the country.
