New Delhi, 5 June (IANS). Indian Railways said that 31,814 tickets have been booked per minute on 22 May. This is the largest figure of ticket booking in the history of railway.
This figure also shows the capacity of railway ticket booking platforms.
Apart from this, the Railways said that while taking action on unauthorized automated booking, its AI -operated system has neutralized 2.5 crore suspected users for ticket booking.
The Railway Ministry said in a statement that new user protocols will be released to further increase fairness and efficiency.
Railways said, “Users who would not have done authentication through Aadhaar, they will be able to book tickets for the Advanced Reservation Period (ARP), Tatkal and Premium Tatkal three days after registration. At the same time, Aadhaar-Seconded users can book tickets without any delay.”
Railways said, the average daily user login has increased from 69.08 lakhs to 82.57 lakhs in FY 2024-25 in Login FY 2023-24, which shows an increase of 19.53 percent, while the same period increased the average daily ticket booking increased by 11.85 percent.
Apart from this, the share of e-ticketing has now increased to 86.38 percent in the total reserve ticket booking.
Indian Railways has done digital overhaul of its ticketing infrastructure on a large scale. Through the deployment of state-of-the-art anti-boat system and integration with a major content delivery network (CDN) service provider, the Railways has largely curbed unauthorized automated booking by dishonest agents and improved the website’s reach for real users.
The new system has effectively reduced all bot traffic, which occurs on peak during the first five minutes of the immediate five minutes. During this period, the share of bot traffic is up to 50 percent of the total login efforts.
