New Delhi, 30 May (IANS). Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia stressed that about 47 percent of the total digital transactions is from India and the scope of Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is now increasing globally.
Apart from this, India is today leading the revolution in technology and telecom sector.
Giving examples in CII’s ‘Annual Business Summit 2025’, the Union Minister said, “India is seen as a digital-first economy and is currently undergoing telecommunications revolution. Skelability has reduced the cost of communication, which is currently the lowest in the world. The country has achieved ‘self-sufficiency’ in telecommunications and one of the four countries to build a technology stack.”
The Union Minister said that the technology is also changing the postal department and new services are being introduced in the postal system.
He said that India’s emergence as the fourth largest economy in the world is a commendable achievement.
The Union Minister also underlined the importance of the Northeast as the focal point of India’s progress, where the decadal growth rate is more than 12–13 percent.
He said, “8 states of the country will emerge as an engine to carry forward the ambition of developed India.”
CII President Sanjeev Puri congratulated the Union Minister for showing interest in investment of Rs 4.3 lakh crore from ‘Rising North-East Investors Summit 2025’ and said that North Eastern India is turning as a strategic entrance to South-East Asia, which is strengthening trade, connectivity and our ambitions for India.
In the recently held ‘Rising North East Investors Summit 2025’, Union Minister Scindia said that the northeast region has emerged as the center of global partnership and mutual interests.
Recently, he also wrote an article about the increasing importance of the Northeast region as a strategic entrance to South-East Asia. Information was also given by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) regarding this article and it was said that by 2047, the Northeast region is playing an important role in realizing the $ 30 trillion vision in line with the country’s ‘developed India’ dream.
