India’s entry in the list of top 100 countries in SDG index, rank improved

New Delhi, 25 June (IANS). India has strengthened its position for the first time in the list of 167 countries that progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). This information was given in a latest report.

According to the 10th edition of the Sustainable Development Report (SDR) released by the UN Sustainable Development Solution Network (ADSN), India is ranked 99th with 67 points in the 2025 SDG index. The US ranks 44th in this list with 75.2 points.

The Sustainable Development Report (SDR) reviews the progress made on SDG every year since all UN member countries adopted by all United Nations members countries.

This 10th anniversary edition of SDR before the fourth International Conference on Development (FFFORDI) in Spain has an immediate reforms in the Global Financial Artetticture (GFA) and includes the first time that the countries made the most progressed at the Sustainable Development goal.

According to the latest SDR, despite the challenges, the commitment in most of the UN member countries remains high.

Professor Jeffrey D., president of SDSN and author of the report, said, “Between increasing geopolitical tension, global inequalities and climate crisis, this year’s SDR underlines that the world largely recognizes the sustainable development goals as an important path for peace, equality and welfare.”

He said, “Many countries are making significant progress, but more can be achieved by increasing investment in education, green technology and digital solutions. Most, we need peace and global cooperation to achieve SDGs.”

The SDR includes SDG index and dashboard, which ranks based on the performance of all UN member countries in terms of 17 goals. This year’s report includes a new index (SDGI), which over time focuses on 17 main indicators to track overall SDG progress.
