Donald Trump is caught in his own statement. He launched a scathing attack on India and Russia on social media and described the economy of both countries as ‘dead’. Trump said that I do not care what India does with Russia, but these countries together can take their dead economy down. This post of Trump came after the announcement of 25 percent tariff on India. Trump wrote in his post, ‘I don’t care what India does with Russia, but together they can take their’ dead economy ‘down.’
Scottish historian and historian of India William Delimpal denied the claim of US President Donald Trump. He said that India is not a ‘dead economy’, but a double -growing economy from America. He has also shared figures, which suggests that India has overtaken America.
India’s economy will grow three times faster than America
Delerimple said on Thursday that India’s economy is actually far from being ‘dead’, but last year it increased twice as fast from the US and is expected to grow three times faster from the US this year. The new world economic figures of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) support Delimle’s words.
See in the data how fast India is growing?
According to the IMF, India’s economy is expected to grow at a rate of 6.4% in both 2025 and 2026, while the US economic growth is estimated to be 1.9% and 2% respectively. During the calendar year, India’s growth rate is expected to be 6.7% in 2025. IMF’s head of research department Denies Egan recently stated at a press conference that our growth rate is actually quite stable. The revised Indian estimates show an increase of 0.2 per cent for 2025 and 0.1 per cent for 2026 as compared to the April update.
Global economy will continue to grow so much
In contrast, the global economy is expected to grow at a rate of 3% during 2025, while the growth rate of developed economies, including the US, is expected to be below 2 percent. China’s growth rate is estimated to be 4.8 percent.
25 percent tariff announced on India
Significantly, on Wednesday, Trump announced 25% tariff on all goods imported from India. He also expressed displeasure over the purchase of Russian crude oil and military equipment and said to impose a fine. Trump said, “The most rigorous and most unpleasant non-monarchy in India is obstacles compared to any country.” He described India’s tariff as the most in the world.
The dollar will not be attacked, Trump claimed that we have done very little business with India. They sell us a lot, but we do not buy them because the tariff is too much. Trump also criticized India’s role in BRICS, saying that BRICS is basically an anti -America group and India is a member of it. This is an attack on the dollar and we will not allow anyone to attack the dollar.
