India's total exports rose by 6 percent to all -time high level of $ 824.9 billion: RBI

New Delhi, May 2 (IANS). According to the latest data of the Reserve Bank of India, India’s total exports touched an all -time high level of $ 824.9 billion in FY 2025, including service trade for March 2025.

This indicates an increase of 6.01 percent as compared to the previous year’s export figure of $ 778.1 billion.

Seva exports continued the pace of development, which reached a historic high of $ 387.5 billion in FY 2025. This is 13.6 percent more than the previous year’s $ 341.1 billion.

The latest data of the RBI suggests that for March 2025, service exports stood at $ 35.6 billion, which reflects an annual increase of 18.6 percent in March 2024 as compared to $ 30.0 billion.

In FY 2025, trade exports increased to $ 374.1 billion, except for petroleum products, which is 6 percent more than $ 352.9 billion in FY 2024. This is the most annual non-petrolium trading export ever.

Earlier data released from the Ministry of Commerce on April 15 was estimated that India’s total exports of goods and services increased by 5.5 percent to a record of $ 820.93 billion during the financial year ended 31 March 2025.

However, at that time the RBI did not compile actual figures of service exports and used an estimated estimate to calculate exports. Now with the arrival of the actual figures, the total value has been recorded.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s increase in American tariffs is expected to affect world trade, while India and the US are in a better stages of reaching bilateral trade agreement soon.

As part of the ongoing discussions, representatives of India’s Department of Commerce and American Trade Representative Office discussed to complete the first phase of the bilateral trade agreement by the autumn (September-October) of 2025 at a meeting in Washington on 23–25 April.

It was discussed after the first bilateral discussions held in New Delhi in March 2025.

The statement said, “During the meetings at Washington, DC, the team discussed the broad topics covering tariffs and non-tariff matters. The team discussed the first phase of the first phase of the multi-regional bilateral trade agreement by the autumn of 2025.
