New Delhi, 11 July (IANS). CERT-in and Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani Group have collaborated to start a vocational development program in cyber security for professionals of government, public sector and industry, to strengthen India’s cyber security capabilities.
An 8-week program has been prepared in cyber security for the government, public sector undertakings and industry professionals, which will be conducted by BITS Pilani through its Hyderabad Campus Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS), with its technology partner rapifies, under the guidance of CERT-in.
CERT-in cyber is the national agency of India for the phenomenon reaction.
The purpose of this collaboration is to meet the increasing demand for structured, high-influence capacity building in cyber security, which is an area of increasing importance between emerging digital threats and cyber security challenges.
Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-in, said, “India’s cyber strong capacity not only appears in the use and development of indigenous cutting-edge technology, but also finds its true strength in the development of a vibrant, high efficient talent group, ready to face the emerging challenges of the digital and quantum era.”
He said that the cooperation of CERT-in with Bits-Pilani is an important step in this visit.
This effort is designed to equip professionals with cutting-edge cyber security expertise as well as to promote a dynamic rapport between industry’s emerging demands and educational excellence.
According to the IT Ministry, the program will start from July 19 and is open to professionals from all fields, including people with no former coding experiences.
Participants will receive a business development certificate in cyber security when the program is successfully completed, which will be co-branded by CERT-in and Bits Pilani.
In the worldwide growing cyber threats, CERT-in plays an important role in the protection of India’s digital infrastructure.
Nominated as a national agency to deal with cyber incidents under Section 70B of the Information Technology Act, 2000, from the prevention of events and real-time threats, from the security management services, CERT-in is at the core of India’s cyber security strategy.
BITS Pilani’s group Vice Chancellor, Professor V. Ram Gopal Rao said, “In Bits Pilani, we not only see cyber security as a technical challenge, but also as a national priority.”
