Jindal India Institute has first MA in ‘India Studies’ in India. Started course

New Delhi, 7 March (IANS). Jindal India Institute (JII) on March 5 at JGU International Academy, Taj Mahal Hotel, Man Singh Road, New Delhi ‘MA. Inaugurated the program in India, which is completely online. JII O.P. Jindal is part of the Global University (JGU).

India Studies is the first such program of a master’s degree that has been introduced by an Indian university. The purpose of this course is to give India an opportunity to understand from the point of view of its intellectual traditions and current circumstances.

In today’s era, when India’s global identity is continuously increasing, this course fulfills the need to deeply understand India’s culture, society and attitude. This program is completely online, especially working people can study India’s diverse cultural and intellectual heritage from any corner of the world.

This course is especially useful for the international community, such as foreign diplomat, people of Indian origin spread worldwide, businessmen, individuals with deep interest in India and researchers from India and South Asia. This gives them an opportunity to deeply understand the rich civilization of India and the current relevance of the world’s largest democracy.

There was a discussion at the opening ceremony of the program, which was the theme – “Understanding India: The role of special knowledge related to India in diplomacy.” It included four major diplomats, who have worked with India at a high level.

The panel included – Professor (Dr.) Anil Suklal (High Commissioner in South Africa), Mariano Agustin Cutchino (Ambassador in Argentina’s India), Gunbold Dambajav (Ambassador to Mongolia), Roman Babushkin (Embassy of Russia (Russian’s Embassy of Russia).

All panel members shared their views about how deep and special information about India increases diplomatic effectiveness and how to strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations. Panel members also expressed their experiences and feelings with India, in which they talked about India’s vastness, complexity and growing global significance.

Mariano Agustin admitted that when he came to India, he had limited knowledge of India, but soon he understood its prevalence and dynamics. He called India a “country of future”.

Gunbold Dambajav spoke on the deep spiritual relations between India and Mongolia. He said, “We are in India, so we must talk about karma.” He also admitted that he is still in the process of understanding the linguistic, cultural and religious diversity of India. He described India as the “spiritual neighbor” of Mongolia.

Roman Babushkin considers himself to be ‘Indofile’ (India-loving). He referred to the intimacy of Russian diplomats in India. He said that “two things are not found anywhere else in the world – Indian weddings and Indian elections.”

Prof. Anil Suklal is also associated with the Indian migrant community. He described the India Studies program as “very necessary”. He hoped that this program would take an important step to understand India deeply. Emphasizing the diversity of India, he said, “Every state of India is like a separate country.” He also said that such programs will help the world join India in its true form.

The event consisted of over 45 prestigious guests, including diplomat, senior journalists and prominent members of the international community from different countries. The program also informed the outline of India Studies course and its major objectives. The beginning of the ‘MA in India Studies’ program is an important step towards understanding India in a systematic and multidimensional manner.

O.P. Jindal Global University founder Vice Chancellor and President of Jindal India Institute Prof. (Dr.) C. Rajkumar underlined the need for this initiative, saying, “Despite India’s rich intellectual traditions and its historical and modern importance, efforts have been scattered in Indian universities. There has been a lack of a systematic and multi -faceted approach in Indian universities. Many institutions around the world have set special centers for ‘India Studies’, but such initiatives are also limited to such initiatives. And its ‘Master in India Studies’ program is an important step towards fulfilling this deficiency. “

Jindal India Institute Director General Prof. (Dr.) Sriram Chaulia explained the relevance of the program, saying that as India is strengthening its identity on the global platform, the need for a solid academic structure is increasing to understand its rich history, diverse traditions and changing global characters. Along with this upliftment of India, it is also necessary that we understand our civilization and intellectual heritage deeply. The ‘Master in India Studies’ courses of the Jindal India Institute provides students ‘past and present the knowledge and analytical approach to the students’ past and present on the basis of their intellectual traditions.

At the conclusion of the program, the Jindal India Institute reiterated its commitment to deepening and promoting India’s history, ideologies and contemporary subjects globally.
