Jomato's name will change, company board approved

New Delhi, 6 February (IANS). The board of veteran food delivery company Jomato on Thursday has approved the name of the company to ‘eternal’.

The company said in the stock exchange filing that when we acquired the blinkit, since then we started using the eaterial name instead of Zomato, so that the difference between the company and the brand/app could be made.

Jomato co-founder, Deepinder Goyal said that we thought that the day the company would achieve an important place in future beyond Jomato, we will publicly make the company name publicly from Jomato. Today with the blinkit, I think that moment has come.

Goyal further said that we are changing the name of the company from Jomato Limited to Eternal Limited. There will be no change in the name of the food delivery brand/app.

After changing the name of the company, the Jomato app will continue to operate with its current name as before. However, the company’s name on the stock exchange will be changed from Zomato to eternal.

There will be four trades under the Eaterial, including zomato, blinkit, District and Hyperpire.

Currently, the company is trading in food delivery, quick commerce, dining services, ticket booking and supply chain solutions.

In the third quarter of FY 25, Jomato’s profits fell by 57 percent to Rs 59 crore, which was at 176 crores in the same quarter of the previous financial year.

During this period, the company’s income from operating has increased by 64 percent to Rs 5,404 crore. The company’s total expenditure in the third quarter of the current financial year was Rs 5,533 crore.

The company had told the shareholders about its expansion and said that it plans to open 1,000 blinkit stores in the country by the end of this year.
